Tennessee Lake and Tennessee Pond Management: the Difference Real Management Makes

I made a blog post about this particular pond a couple months ago, but another big fish has been caught from it since, such that the pond deserves another mention. We have worked on dozens of private lakes and ponds both in Tennessee and surrounding states that had previously been managed for a few or several years by one or another of our bigger (presently) competitors, and which had fishing for which mediocre would be a generous description. But some lake and pond owners, for whatever reason, are so impressed by the number of employees/warehouses/etc. that these competitors of ours have, that they can’t bring themselves to leave them so they can hire biologists who actually make a difference. We started working with this pond in July 2014. This pond is the landowners’ trophy bluegill pond - it’s not even being managed for big bass because they have a new 6.5-acre pond we just built for them which will be their trophy-largemouth pond. From March through June of this year, a 6 lb. 5 oz. largemouth, a 6 lb. 14 oz. largemouth, a 7 lb. 5 oz. largemouth, and a 7 lb. 13 oz. largemouth have been caught from the pond...The pond has also produced several northern bluegill to 11.5”, an 11” coppernose bluegill, a 12” coppernose bluegill, and a 33.28-oz. coppernose bluegill. The pond is just over one acre in size. Imagine what we could do with your lake or pond.
