Another Very Big Bass from a Small Pond

I have made a few blog posts now about a 1.1-acre pond we have managed since June of 2014. From March through August of 2018, a 6 lb. 5 oz. largemouth bass, a 6 lb. 14 oz. largemouth, a 7 lb. 5 oz. largemouth, and a 7 lb. 13 oz. largemouth were caught from that pond, along with a 2 lb. 1 oz. and a 2 lb. 2 oz bluegill. Then on February 20 of this year, a 9 lb. 2 oz. largemouth was caught.

A couple weeks ago the owner sent me a photo of a ten-pound largemouth that had just been caught from the pond.

We’ve been managing private ponds longer than any other private biologist working in this region; however, we just started doing it as a business proper in 2009. As a result, there are multiple companies working in this region that manage several times the amount of water that we do.

If you’re presently using one of those other companies and not getting the results you want, ask yourself the last time you saw them post a photo of a ten-pound largemouth from a one-acre pond in middle Tennessee?
